If there a two place I can’t ever get enough of, it’s Comptoir Darna and Azar… in this article you can read all about Azar!
Whenever people ask me where the best place is to dine with their hubs or their family (incl. kids), I always tell them to go to Restaurant Azar in Marrakech. Why? Because this hotspot has it all: rather you want to have a fun night with live oriental music mixed with the newest hits, dance and sing along or enjoy your dinner while listening to the music in the background – Azar is the place to be! Besides their amazing and happy atmosphere, this beautiful restaurant is based in a quiet street in Gueliz (city centre of Marrakech) and open every night from 7PM!
Each night you can enjoy a mesmerizing show laid on by Azar’s beautiful belly dancers and from Thursday to Saturday, they host fabulous dinner parties accompanied by the talented Azar String Orchestra. Honestly, I love their music! And of course, if you prefer a more relaxing type of music, from Sunday to Wednesday, you can listen to the magical sounds of a kanoun. I bet you’re hooked already, and I did not even mention the food…
Azar’s menu exists from fine Oriental cuisine combined with a subtle blend of Lebanese & Moroccan flavors with tasty and inventive Mediterranean cuisine – using only the freshest seasonal produce. For starters we decided to pick the Selection of Briouats – basically these are fried pastry filled with goat cheese-spinach, chicken-vermicelli, lamb-preserved onions and some were Vegetarian – super delicious and not too heavy. For the main we decided to go for the ‘Glazed Salmon’ and a delicious ‘Mixed Grill’ plate. If you love meat, definitely pick that one! Desert here is amazing. As you know this is one of my fave places to have dinner, so even though we didn’t get desert this time, my all time favorite is the ‘Crispy Chocolate Praline’ and the ‘Traditional Crispy Milk Pastilla’!
