We had a lovely poolside lunch at the iconic La Mamounia.

Hotel La Mamounia has always been a special place to me. My grandfather used to stay here back in the 50s many times when he would go to Marrakech. I’ve never met him, but because of the many stories about him told by my dad and old pictures – it is just as if I knew him. Being here, at La Mamounia makes me think of how my grandfather might have sat in that spot or looked at the same palmtrees as I did…

Back to the lunch! It was an amazing day with a clear blue sky. We decided to have a poolside lunch at the Pool Pavilion surrounded by gorgeous palmtrees and bird sounds. Even though it was in the middle of the Winter season, it felt as the first day of Spring. And then the lunch… it was heaven! We had an enormous buffet with so many good things to pick from including hot and cold, sweet and savoury dishes. Every dish is so beautifully presented that secretly I wanted to try it all out. There’s seafood, lobster, oysters, salmon, delicious salads, Moroccan tajines and – not to forget – AMAZING pastries prepared by La Mamounia’s own Pastry Chef.

Of course we also did a little tour around and a quick photoshoot at the iconic ‘Patio Noir et Blanc’. Take a look at I am sure La Mamounia is your next must-stay (or lunch spot!) in Marrakech!
